Tour Itinerary

Day 1. Welcome to Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve!
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Upon arriving at “El Puente Cuyabeno,” we will take a break to enjoy our box lunch. Afterward, we will prepare for the journey on a motorized canoe. We will provide rain ponchos and life vests, and your luggage will be protected with plastic in case of rain. During the 2 to 3-hour trip along the narrow Cuyabeno River, you will have the chance to admire the diverse flora and fauna of the Reserve. Once we reach Tapir Lodge, guests will be shown to their rooms to settle in. After dinner, the guide will provide an overview of the Lodge, the Cuyabeno Reserve, and the upcoming activities.
Meals: Breakfast,  Lunch, Dinner.
We will start the day with breakfast at 7:30 am, then meet at the pier to prepare for our tour, including providing rubber boots. At 9:00 am, we’ll head by motorized canoe to Laguna Grande and explore its peaceful waters by paddle canoe, looking for unique plants and animals in the flooded forest. We’ll then go to “Terra Firme” for a walk along the “Palma Roja” trail, where our guide will explain about the rainforest. We might see birds like toucans and monkeys. Lunch will be served at 2:30 pm, followed by a short break. In the afternoon, we’ll return to the lake to explore more and maybe swim or enjoy the sunset. Back at the lodge, we’ll relax with a drink, and later, if weather allows, join a short night walk to spot frogs and other creatures.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
If the weather is good, we will start early at 6:00 am with birdwatching along the river, returning at 7:00 am for breakfast. At 8:00 am, we will take a 2-hour paddle canoe ride to spot butterflies, monkeys, and more. We will visit Puerto Bolívar, home of the Siona people, and a nearby Cofan community to meet a local shaman. After lunch in his backyard, he will share his knowledge of healing plants and offer an optional healing ceremony. Later, we will see how the Siona make traditional Cassava Bread. Around 5:00 pm, we return to the lodge and may visit Big Lake to enjoy the sunset. Dinner is at 8:00 pm, followed by a farewell cocktail and a night walk to find frogs, spiders, and other night animals.
Meals: Breakfast.
We will have breakfast at 7:30 AM. After breakfast, we will help get everything ready for your departure from Tapir Lodge. We usually leave around 9:30 AM, depending on the weather and river level. Our staff will take care of your bags and make sure they are safely loaded onto the canoe. Then we will travel back to El Puente Cuyabeno, where our Amazon Adventure ends.
